The Gourmet Guide to Cigars
Paul B K Garmirian - First Edition, 1990.
This book was first published in 1990.
It is a 146 page (235mm x 158mm) hardcover book. It contains several black & white photographs and images including cigar bands.
The author, Paul Garmirian, is credited with rationalising common names for cigars. This book was the basis of the more extensive classification later published by Perelman.
It was reputably also the first book to separate the
Havana and non-Havana cigars into two separate groups.
This book covers cigars in general and has some interesting anecdotes and an especially revealing chapter on Davidoff.
This book represents an interesting snap-shot of cigars circa 1990. Some twenty years later, this book is well worth a read.
