The superb smoke was also a tremendous value—retailing for all of $5 at the time—a cigar priced for the masses with a taste for connoisseurs.The Diadema size is a far larger, more ornate version of the robusto. The cigar is gorgeous, showcasing the rolling talents of Plasencia Cigars, a cigar factory in Estelí, Nicaragua, that looks like a church and was once known as Segovia. A fat, long stick with a pigtail tip twisted tight against its tapered head, it has a curved bottom that needs just a bit of a clipping to get going. The wrapper possesses a cold aroma of well-tanned leather. The cigar is loaded with cocoa bean, cedar and spicy notes that come together in balanced fashion, culminating in a savory, leathery finish. And while it's not the bargain of the robusto, you still get quite a bit of cigar for your money considering its size.
